I do volunteering at my local JCC every thursday, and the closest one is two towns over so I end up taking a taxi often when my parent's can't drive me. It's about $20 total. Anyway, each time I get in the taxi I always get a slice of another's life. It's interesting. There was this one guy, he shaved his head because his friend died who shaved his head whenever any of his friends died. This taxi driver also does wilderness stuff, like isolation in the north and getting caught in week-long snowstorms. And camping out in the wilderness, learning to hear the difference between wolves (and there really are wolves in NY) and coyotes and dogs. He told me to watch a ovie called "the beach" which I should probably get around to watching. Today I waited about an hour for my taxi (they dropped off someone at the same place, yet didnt pick me up there and I had to call again >.>. In the car was the taxi driver, and the taxi driver's friends girlfriend (?) and I heard all about their family dynamic and things. It does help put things in perspective for me a little bit.
